During his visit to a tent city set up for rain-affected citizens in Qila Saifullah district, the prime minister directed the provincial administration to take action against those responsible for failing to provide people with food and water, the APP reported on Monday.
The PM directed the concerned authorities to ensure the disbursement of compensation money to the flood-affected people within 24 hours.
“During my visit here and to other camps, I have been told the people are not being provided food and water. It is extremely unfortunate that these camps are without food and water,” he said.
He said negligence will not be tolerated, adding that Balochistan Chief Minister Abdul Qudoos Bizenjo assured him that action would be initiated against those responsible.
The premier said that the federal government is determined to extend every possible assistance to the provincial government.
He also directed the National Disaster and Management Authority (NDMA) and Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) to hasten relief efforts to facilitate those affected and conduct a joint survey of damaged homes and crops.
