Two patrolling police officers were suspended by the National Highways and Motorway Police (NHMP) allegedly for stopping an anti-terrorism court judge from using the Sialkot Motorway that had been closed due to hazardous fog.

The NHMP had closed the Sialkot-Lahore motorway three days ago due to increased fog, as it could be hazardous. On Wednesday around 8:30 AM, an ATC judge and his accompanying police squad forcibly tried to cross the barricades that had sealed off the motorway.

Two motorway patrolling officers —Shakir Ali and Haider Ali— got a call from NHMP headquarters and stopped the judge at the next interchange and fined him for entering the closed motorway.

Viral footage from the event shows the judge making an angry phone call to someone and complaining about being stopped on the motorway. The judge was heard threatening to 'hold court on the motorway' and star terrorism proceedings against the patrolling officers.

The two officers were reportedly suspended the next day.
