The caretaker federal government maintained the petrol price at Rs 281.34 per litre for the next two weeks on Thursday.
High-speed diesel (HSD) has been reduced by Rs7 per liter, while kerosene oil has been reduced by Rs3.82 per liter.
The price of light diesel oil has been reduced by Rs4.52 per liter as well.
In this context, the finance ministry issued a notification.
The caretaker government reduced petrol and diesel prices by Rs2.04 and Rs6.47 per litre, respectively, on November 15.
The government is charging zero general sales tax (GST) on petroleum products, whereas the petroleum levy (PL) on petrol and diesel is Rs 60 per litre.
According to brokerage projections issued on Wednesday, inflation is expected to rise in November, owing mostly to a significant increase in gas prices.
The consumer price index (CPI), which monitors price fluctuations in goods and services, is expected to grow to 28.6-29.6% year on year in November, up from 26.9% in October.
