An explosion at a home in Daira Din Panah, in Punjab's Kot Addu, around 80 km from Muzaffargarh, resulted in at least five fatalities and three injuries, police said on Thursday.

An individual who works at a junkyard owns the home where the explosion took place, according to the police.

They acknowledged that trash and junk were being processed "even at the time of the explosion" and said that police units and other security agencies reached the scene quickly after the incident.

According to authorities, "the nature of the explosion is being investigated."

They stated that two women and a girl were among the five people who were slain. These were all from the same family.

Moreover, the wounded were sent to the District Headquarters (DHQ) Hospital in Kot Addu.

According to Rescue 1122, a call was sent to the control center at 8:44 a.m. informing them that five people had died and three had been injured as a result of an "unknown object" exploding inside the residence.

The caller asked that an ambulance be dispatched right away.

According to a statement from the helpline, "Rescue 1122 Control Room immediately dispatched three ambulances from Kot Addu Central Rescue Station to the accident site and also informed the police."

When emergency personnel arrived at the scene, witnesses reported that five people had already passed away and three others had been hurt when an unknown object in the room exploded.

According to their statement, it would be premature to speculate about the explosion's nature.
