Arrest warrants for Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chairman Imran Khan were issued on Saturday.

The warrants were issued in connection with a FIR lodged against the PTI chairman on August 20 by Bani Gala police. The lodged FIR stands at number 407 at the police station mentioned afore. Sections 188 (disobedience to an order lawfully promulgated by a public servant), 189 (threat of injury to public servant), 504 (intentional breach of peace) and 506 (criminal intimidation) of the Pakistan Penal Code (PPC) have been applied in the document.

The FIR pertains to his remarks on Additional District and Sessions Judge Zeba Chaudhry.

A repentant Imran Khan had on Friday landed at the court of judicial magistrate Zeba Chaudhry.

Police told the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chairman that she was on leave after locking her room. “I had come to apologise to judicial magistrate Zeba Chaudhry,” Khan told court staff.

“Tell Madam Zeba Chaudhry I visited and wanted to apologise if my remarks had hurt her sentiments,” he said. He then left the premises.

The PTI chairman had earlier submitted a 19-page reply to the Islamabad High Court (IHC) in connection with hurling threats at Chaudhry during a show of power in the federal capital. He had expressed remorse over his actions in the response.

Separately, an Islamabad district and sessions court confirmed Imran’s interim bail in a case registered against him for violating Section 144. The PTI chief had called a rally in Islamabad on August 20, 2022. An FIR was consequently lodged against him for violating the aforementioned section banning public gatherings exceeding four individuals.
