During today’s hearing, Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Umar Ata Bandial announced a reserved verdict on it. The chief justice said, "Full court is not available until September."
The case was being heard by a six-member bench consisting of CJP Bandial, Justices Ijazul Ahsan, Munib Akhtar, Yahya Afridi, Sayyed Mazahar Ali Akbar Naqvi, and Ayesha Malik.
On the previous hearing, Attorney General for Pakistan (AGP) Mansoor Usman Awan informed the court that the trials of civilians detained for their involvement in the May 9 riots had not yet begun.
The CJP also expressed the wish that the civilians would not go on trial before the current case was resolved.
The chief justice rejected the petition, stating that a full court would not be available until September.
