TV anchor and long time journalist Hamid Mir has claimed that General Bajwa tried to help Imran Khan during the vote of no confidence. He made these remarks while commenting on Geo TV show.

According to Mir, General Bajwa tried to stop MQM and Balochistan Awami Party (BAP) from siding with parties of Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM). Reportedly, Gen Bajwa also told PDM to withdraw the resolution for VoNC.

Former COAS also met Shehbaz Sharif and Zardari to this effect, Mir claims.

In a Tweet he added that Gen Bajwa tried to stop the smaller parties to leave Imran Khan but these allies were unhappy due to the attitude of Imran Khan.

Former prime minister Imran Khan since April 2022 has held that General Bajwa did not help him during the vote of no-confidence. Khan's campaign against former COAS was based on this premise and this is why he also used the label of Mir Jafar.

Mir's revelations tell a different story about what might have happened during April of this year.
