An anti-corruption court in Lahore has summoned former Punjab chief minister Parvez Elahi and other accused persons to face indictment in the illegal hitings in the Punjab Assembly case during the next hearing.
During the court hearing, Chaudhry Parvez Elahi, currently detained, was notably absent, with his absence justified by the submission of a medical certificate.
The medical report said that Parvez Elahi's unhealed bone injury after a tumble in the restroom barred him from attending the court proceedings. According to the report, the former CM was directed to stay in bed for three weeks and was not permitted to leave the house during this time.
The court adjourned the hearing until May 13, summoning Parvez Elahi and the other ten defendants for indictment.
