On Monday, the park was abruptly closed at around 11:30 AM, with instructions for staff and visitors to remain inside the park until they could show a negative Covid test. Park rides were still operational while guests awaited their Covid results.
The government said that the authorities tested each and every human present in the theme park, claiming that more than 400,000 tests were administered, and that every single person tested negative. According to the authorities, all guests were allowed to leave by 8:30 PM, however some media accounts quote people saying they were in the park till 10:30 PM.

According to Reuters, the lockdown was imposed after a 31-year-old woman who had recently visited the park tested positive for Covid. Since then, the government has temporarily shut down Disneyland again, and has required anyone who has visited Shanghai Disney since Thursday to isolate and show three consecutive negative tests.
