The video of the helicopter went viral on social media, with people criticizing the decision to throw down bags of flour meant for relief for the flood victims, as the bags immediately burst open on impact.

As per Balochistan Chief Secretary Abdul Aziz Uqaili, the helicopter was directed by the provincial government to distribute rations in the Hanna Urrak region on the outskirts of Quetta.
“We do not deny that a few bags dropped from the helicopter were wasted during one of the sorties in the area, as it was a difficult mountainous area and there was no place to land," he said.
Uqaili said that after the video went viral, the government summoned the chief pilot who was flying the helicopter. Upon inquiry, the pilot admitted that a few ration bags were dropped while conducting the sorties, and due to them being dropped from a great height, the bags burst open, spilling their contents on the ground.
However, the pilot maintained that it was not possible for the aircraft to land or to fly low in that area due to the presence of a difficult mountainous terrain. Following the unfortunate dropping of a few bags, the secretary said that the pilot eventually returned to the same area and managed to fly low and get the helicopter to hover while distributing rations.
