An Anti-Terror Court (ATC) in Lahore on Saturday directed investigators to include the sisters of former prime minister and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan in their probe of the May 9 incidents.

This was directed as Imran's sisters, Aleema Khan and Uzma Khan, appeared before ATC Admin Judge Ahbar Gul after their provisional bails expired. The judge heard bail pleas in four separate cases.

During the hearing, the judge asked whether the two had been included in the investigations thus far.

At this, the investigation officer replied in the negative.

Aleema Khan told the judge that it was her request to the investigation officer to include them in the probe. Uzma Khan repeated this request.

"We have been pleading with the investigators to include us in investigations," she told the judge, claiming that they were deliberately not being included in investigations.

Uzma told the court that it was their right to present their side of the story. We have been asking the investigators for a while now to include them in the investigations. On the court's inquiry, Uzma said that they have been repeatedly visiting the investigators for the past three months, urging them to include them in investigations.

The court subsequently directed the investigation officer to include Imran's sisters in the investigation and submit a report.
