Imran Khan, the imprisoned former prime minister, informed the court on Tuesday that his wife and ex-first lady, Bushra Bibi, had been poisoned in the Bani Gala sub-jail.

The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder made the assertion during a £190 million settlement hearing in Rawalpindi's Adiala jail. Khan informed the accountability court judge that the former first lady had "being poisoned" markings on her skin and mouth.

He requested that the court conduct an investigation into the occurrence as well as a thorough medical examination of Bushra Bibi.

Khan said, "I know who is behind it."

He requested that the former first lady's medical checkup be performed by Dr. Asim Yunus, a doctor at Shaukat Khanum Memorial Cancer Hospital and Research Centre.

At this point, the court asked Khan to file a formal application for Bushra Bibi's medical checkup.

In February of this year, the PTI voiced deep worry over what it claimed were major threats to Bushra's life and health, who had been placed under house arrest in Bani Gala. Kanwal Shauzab, President of the PTI Women Wing, stated that Bushra had major health concerns as a result of the toxic and poor diet she was given.

Bushra's "health worsened, and she got mouth ulcers after she was given a spicy meal" during her house imprisonment, according to PTI lawyer Naeem Haider Panjutha.

Bushra was placed under house arrest at her husband's Islamabad estate after being convicted of corruption charges. Khan and his wife were sentenced to 14 years in prison in a case involving claims that the former prime minister undervalued gifts from a state repository and profited from selling them while in power.

While talking to journalists before her court appearance, Bushra Bibi alleged that "three drops of toilet cleaner" were put into her supper on the eve of Shab-e-Meraj. She said that the food and water provided by the prison authorities were terrible.

Bushra responded to a question by saying that "someone" told her in jail that toilet cleaner had been added to her meals. She declined to provide the official's name.

"My eyes swell up, and I feel pain in my chest and stomach," the former first lady alleged.

She also stated that research has shown that a toilet cleaner victim's health deteriorates after one month.
