Moonis Elahi And Imran Riaz Khan Get Into A Twitter Feud About...Watches?
Pakistani politics cannot move too far away from the topic of luxury watches, as apparent by the recent Twitter feud between Pakistan Muslim League-Quaid (PML-Q) leader Moonis Elahi and journalist Imran Riaz Khan.

The feud comes a day after Moonis Elahi had given an interview in which he had said that at the time of the vote of no-confidence, the PML-Q had sided with the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) at the instruction of former army chief Qamar Javed Bajwa.

Following the interview, Imran Riaz Khan — who is considered by many to be pro-PTI — took a jab at Moonis and his father Punjab Chief Minsiter Parvez Elahi and tweeted, "And PTI kept thinking that Parvez and Moonis Elahi accepted the chief ministry of Punjab out of the voice of their conscience and their love for [PTI chief] Imran Khan."

Moonis Elahi then shot back at Khan and said, "Don't you worry. Your ticket is confirmed, and then you can take over [PTI]. Then everyone including PTI and the rest will also understand."

Imran Riaz Khan did not let that slide and retorted that buying and selling party tickets was Moonis' 'family business'. "By the way, how is your Richard Mille's wrist watch going? The one which only costs Rs75 million," he taunted, referring to a Swiss luxury watch.

Elahi replied and said he doesn't own a Richard Millie and that he thinks they are 'overpriced'. "Since you are such a fan shall I send you one? Or shall I present it to you when you “officially” join politics?" he jibed back.

The journalist responded and said that he doesn't need a Richard Millie as he likes his own watch, posting a picture of it. He then asked Elahi to ask 'Farhan' about the luxury watch, stating that he would jog Elahi's memory.

The spat comes as a result of an interview Moonis Elahi gave on Thursday. During an interview with Meher Abbasi, he had claimed that the PTI-led Punjab government was only able to survive because of Gen Bajwa.

“We were offered the chief ministry from all sides, by Mian [Nawaz Sharif] sahib, by the PTI and by the Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM),” he maintained, reiterating that he had wanted to side with the PTI.

Elahi said he then had a discussion with his father [Parvez Elahi] and his uncle [Chaudhry Shujaat] who then had a talk with General Bajwa, who instructed them to opt for the PTI.
