Three Major Channels Stop Broadcasting Presser After Finance Minister's Malik Riaz Jibe at Imran
Three mainstream news channels on Saturday stopped broadcasting Finance Minister Miftah Ismail's press conference after he took a jibe at Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chairman Imran Khan with reference to real estate mogul Malik Riaz.

Geo News, ARY News and Samaa TV resorted to taking a break after the minister, taking a potshot at the PTI chairman, queried why he had returned GBP£190 million to the businessman. He said Khan should tell journalists why he had done the same.

Talk of fostering real freedom coming from the PTI chief was rich, the minister quipped, when he himself was incapable of emancipating himself from Riaz.

Journalist Matiullah Jan shared a video showing how the channels halted coverage of the presser in a tweet the same day. "Miftah Ismail taunted Imran Khan saying he could not emancipate himself from Malik Riaz and lectures people otherwise." That very moment, the journalist said, what all major news channels did was representative of how "free" the media truly was.
