Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) Senior Vice President and Chief Organiser Maryam Nawaz on Sunday met with US Ambassador Donald Blome, the party said.
In a message posted on the party's social media account on the platform X (formerly Twitter), the party said that Blome had called on PML-N supremo Nawaz Sharif's daughter Maryam at her residence in Murree.
During their meeting, the party said they discussed the significance of "historic, longstanding bilateral ties between the two countries."
"They emphasized the importance of promoting mutual cooperation in diverse areas, including trade, economy, security, peace and regional stability," the statement added.
During their interaction, Maryam expressed appreciation for Ambassador Blome's efforts on behalf of the United States for Pakistan's challenges, such as the very challenging novel coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic and during last year's devastating floods.

The meeting comes as the party confirmed that party supremo Nawaz Sharif will return to Pakistan next month after spending nearly four years in the UK in self-exile.
Nawaz is expected to return on October 15 and face the cases against him apart from appealing his life-time disqualification from contesting elections.
