Three out of the four Pakistanis participating in the swimming competitions at the Commonwealth Games are women, which is a matter of immense pride for Pakistan.
During the competition's freestyle category, Jahanara Nabi clocked 1:01.51 in women's 100m freestyle heats, thereby breaking her own national record which previously was 1:02.05.
18-year-old Jahanara Nabi has set many national records in Pakistan, and is competing at the Commonwealth Games for the first time.
20-year-old Bisma Khan won the silver medal at the 2019 South Asian Games in Nepal, and also competed in the 2020 Summer Olympics in Tokyo, Japan.
20-year-old Mishael Ayub has also participated in the 2018 Asian Games.
The entire nation is proud of these three women who have achieved so much despite being young in age and also coming from a country that lack adequate training facilities for athletes, especially those who are female.
