On a full moon November night in Karachi, the Empowering Communities for Change (ECC) organised their Annual Sundowner fundraiser 2023 at the British Deputy High Commission in Karachi, last Sunday November 26 to kick off the season leading up to December festivities. The silvery light brightened the magical evening as guests poured in to support a special cause.
This sundowner has become one of the most anticipated events in the city’s calendar for those who support the ECC’s welfare causes and have been supporting the charity since a decade.
The sundowner was attended by more than 300 sponsors, celebrities, donors and their guests who came together generously to fund the ECC Women’s and Children’s Training and Daycare Centre in Khuda ki Basti, a community on the periphery of Karachi.
ECC’s other sustainability initiatives includes a ration bank project and widows support program. The management includes two founders and a board of directors which include the city’s leading and respected professionals.
The event itself was extremely well received and generated the target funds. The guests shared their appreciation of the tasteful arrangements, music, lavish hors douvres, dinner menu and the beautiful ambience amplified by the lush gardens at the High Commission.
