Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Chairperson Rameez Raja has said that his life is in danger.

Briefing the National Assembly Standing Committee on Inter-Provincial Coordination, Rameez revealed that he is receiving death threats from both inside and outside the country.

He informed the standing committee that he took over as the PCB chairperson in September last year and since then the cricket board’s reserves have increased, adding that Rs610 million has been given to the franchises of the Pakistan Super League (PSL).

He informed the committee that the Pakistan team's position has improved in the international rankings after defeating the top teams, including India.

He also said that the Pakistan Junior League will be held in October while the PSL for women will be held in February next year.

Talking about revenue, Rameez said that most of the funding for the cricket board comes from the International Cricket Council (ICC), but the PCB has introduced the Pakistan Junior League to generate its own revenue and 28 companies have expressed their interest in the league so far.

He added that the England and New Zealand teams are coming to Pakistan to play extra matches to make up for not visiting in the past.
