Young Couple Murdered In Sanghar For 'Honour'

A man and his wife, who had married of their own free will in a local court about two years ago, were shot dead in village Gul Hassan Magsi in the limits of Sarhari Police Station, Sanghar district, on Friday.

Farooq Ahmed Broho, 30, and his wife Rukhsana, 27, were shot dead by the accused. The police sources informed this reporter that the parents of the murdered woman had invited both Rukhsana and Farooq for dinner after settling the difference over their marriage. “The accused, Sajan Rind, the father of Rukhsana Rind, opened fire on the sleeping couple. Both died on the spot,” says a police official at Sarhari Police Station.

According to the relatives of Farooq Ahmed, the two families had settled difference over their marriage of choice. Sajan Rind and others had assured the notables of the area that the couple would not be harmed.

The minor daughter of Rukhsana and Farooq remained unhurt in the firing incident.

The bodies of the murdered couple were brought to Taluka Hospital Shahpur Chakar for post-mortem. Police have arrested some people of the Rind clan.

No FIR was registered till the filing of this report.
