According to The Daily Telegraph, the UK government is working on proposals to bar the immigration of hate preachers with extreme beliefs from countries such as Pakistan, Afghanistan, and Indonesia.
The government, concerned about a perceived "shocking increase" in extremist activities, is actively seeking to identify the most dangerous radicals from overseas and plans to place them on visa warning lists. Individuals on these lists would be automatically denied admission into the United Kingdom under the proposed regulations.
This development comes after British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak delivered an emotional address at 10 Downing Street, highlighting the threat posed by radicals to the country's democratic and multi-faith principles.
Sunak reaffirmed the government's commitment to halting anyone who wants to undermine those principles from entering the country, saying, "The Home Secretary has instructed that if those here on visas choose to spew hate on protests or seek to intimidate people, we will remove their right to be here."
In addition to combating hate preachers, Sunak encouraged protestors opposing the Israel-Hamas conflict to avoid being manipulated by extremists.
