When it comes to press freedom, all South Asian countries have been racing to the bottom, and are some of the most dangerous places to report from. Killings, torture in custody, arbitrary detentions, false court cases, brazen censorship, and draconian laws are the costs that journalists of Afghanistan, Bangladesh, India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Maldives, and Bhutan pay to be able to report.
