Nature has its own diversity and elegance; a mesmerizing sight was witnessed in the Sarfaranga Cold Desert when it received snowfall on Sunday.

Sarfaranga Desert, commonly known as Skardu Cold Desert, is located in the Shigar district at a height of 7,500 feet. On the way to Shigar, one cannot miss it. Nature unfolds itself with a vast variety in this desert. The desert is surrounded by mountains, and the Indus River is flowing nearby. It is indeed a surprising and mesmerizing experience to feel the calmness of a desert with snow falling on top of sand dunes.

Winter snow arrived in Pakistan this week after an unusually long dry spell that kept tourists away and raised concerns about agricultural production and water reserves.
The lack of snow and rain had raised fears in northern Pakistan.
The hotel industry suffered losses because very few tourists visited the northern areas due to the absence of snowfall during the last two months. However, now tourists have started visiting the northern areas to enjoy snowfall with their families and friends.

The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has predicted more rain and snowfall for Murree and Galyat on Monday evening and night.
On Tuesday, partly cloudy and freezing weather is likely in Murree, Galyat, and surroundings.
Murree’s minimum temperature is expected to be between -03 to -01 degrees Celsius on Tuesday and Wednesday.
