A 4-year-old girl who had gone missing the day before was discovered dead on the Panjkora River bank on Thursday.
Maria, a 4-year-old child, disappeared from Khazana village on Wednesday night.
Following the incident's viral social media rise, Deputy Commissioner Lower Dir Wasil Khan became aware of it. The Lower Dir police visited the crime scene and gathered evidence. The squad included SP investigation Zahoor Ahmed, SP CTD Amjad Khan, and DSP Jandool Bakht Jamal Khan.
The National Commission on the Rights of Child (NCRC) expressed grave concern over the horrific incident. In a post on X, formerly known as Twitter, the NCRC stated, “We are horrified at the murder of innocent Maria and have taken cognizance of this heinous crime. Expecting DPO and DC Lower Dir to give this utmost priority. We must do better in protecting our children.”
