Opposition leader Umar Ayub responded to the Federal Investigation agency’s (FIA) notice over the 'controversial' video uploading issue on Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan's X account, demanding a copy of the Hamood-Ur-Rehman Commission report.
Omar Ayub has said that he would challenge the FIA notice in Parliament as well as in court.
The defamatory notice posed 'vague, questionable, and unlawful questions,' he added.
"The notice has a connection to the collapse of Dhaka, for which the government established a committee. The government never rejected the commission's findings or denied its contents. The Hamood-Ur-Rehman Commission is available in Cabinet Division."
The FIA's only goal is to take revenge on the PTI leadership, he alleged.
"A copy of the Hamud-ur-Rehman Commission report should be given to prepare the answer," Umar Ayub stated.
The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) has summoned key Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) officials in connection with Imran Khan's contentious X (previously Twitter) tweet about the 1971 incident.
Umar Ayub, Barrister Gohar Khan, and Rauf Hassan have received notices taking them in for interrogation on Tuesday at 11 a.m.
The investigation, led by the FIA's Cyber Wing, centers on the unlawful use of PTI founder Imran Khan's social media account to spread a controversial video.
The May 26 video allegedly incited public unrest by addressing the findings of the Hamoodur Rahman Commission Report with a contentious remark: "Every Pakistani should study the Hamoodur Rahman Commission Report and get to know who was the true traitor, General Yahya Khan or Sheikh Mujibur Rahman."
