The Pashtunkhuwa Milli Awami has protested against an alleged raid on the house of their party leader and presidential candidate, Mahmood Khan Achakzai.
The party announced a court boycott by lawyers affiliated with or supporting the party apart from issuing a nationwide protest call.
Pashtunkhwa Milli Awami Party Secretary General Abdul Rahim Ziaratwals said that party chairman Mahmood Khan Achakzai's house in Quetta was raided after his speech in the National Assembly.
"We were informed that Mahmood Khan Achakzai's house or his children can be arrested by putting a drug case on them. This is like a gift being given to us in return for supporting democracy," he said.
He added that after the attack on Mahmood Khan Achakzai's house, businesses of party workers were sealed, including a showroom and a petrol pump located on Airport Road, "which we condemn."
Quetta Deputy Commissioner Quetta Saad Bin Assad had stated that "Police and other law enforcement agencies headed by Assistant Commissioner City carried out an operation on Quarry Road, where an empty plot was cleared near the residence of Chairman PkMAP, presidential candidate Mahmood Khan Achakzai."
"Mahmood Khan Achakzai occupied two and a half kanals of government land by building up a wall around it. A person was arrested for interfering with the government and drawing weapons on the AC. The arrested person was guarding the occupied area with illegal weapon," the deputy commissioner said.
