Young doctors protesting in Islamabad were baton-charged and tear gassed by the police after they broke into Pakistan Medical Commission (PMC).

Young doctors from across Pakistan were part of the protest outside the PMC that began on Tuesday morning. YDA representatives and members from Balochistan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa arrived in the capital city on Monday to protest against the National Licensing Exams.

Police said that they 'had to' use tear gas and baton charge the protestors because it was their duty to save the government property.

In a meeting held with the deputy commissioner of Islamabad, a 5-member delegation of the YDA was told by the authorities that they would have to clear the roads.
Earlier, the YDA had vowed to hold protests across the country if their detained colleagues are not released.
