Businessman and Dreshak Group president Mumtaz Muslim, who also happens to be a Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) donor, has been awarded a contract to build a luxury hotel in Nathiagali, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

Mumtaz Muslim is the president and owner of Dreshak Group and Dreshak Security Solutions Inc., which operate a hotel chain and security firm, respectively. He donated nearly US$25,000 to PTI, according to the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP)'s scrutiny committee report

Based in the UAE, Mumtaz was named special adviser to the chairman on special projects by Prime Minister Imran Khan in 2018, after meeting with the premier at Khan's Banigala residence.

Mumtaz met with Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtuknhwa, Mahmood Khan in Septermber 2021.  Two months later, the Dreshak Group was awarded the hotel contract in the popular tourism destination, Nathiagali.

When asked about the agreement, Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Fawad Chaudhry claimed that to the best of his knowledge, the contract was not awarded to Mumtaz by the KP government, but by the army.

The Dreshak Group runs a chain of luxury hotels, notable for their location in high-security locales including The Baron Hotel in Kabul, which was bombed by ISIS militants during the US's exit from Afghanistan in August 2021.

Dreshak Security Solutions Inc. runs high-contract, specialized non-combat security forces.  According to the group's website, they have deployed over 14,800 security guards from Uganda, Macedonia and Bosnia to provide security to 36 US bases in Iraq.

Mumtaz Muslim also appeared in the Pandora Papers, the trove of leaked documents featuring 12 million confidential files from 14 offshore services firms.  Muslim had incorporated Dreshak Security Solutions in the British Virgin Islands, and named himself and Imraz Ahmed Muslim as the officers and shareholders of the company.
