Twin sisters Zainab Umar and Zunairah Umar spoke for the first time about their custody dispute during an interview with a Pakistani TV channel after their mother held a press conference demanding their recovery from their father, who is Liberia’s Ambassador at Large for Pakistan and South East Asia.
They said their mother once asked them to steal their passports, take money from their father and run away from their Dubai home, adding that the actress is holding media talks to gain publicity.
They said their mother came to Dubai multiple times in the last few years and despite being in constant contact refused to meet them.
“We requested our mother to see us but she ignored us. She did her modelling shoot in Dubai and went back. She appears on TV to level allegations that she is seeking to recover to run a campaign against our father. She does not care about us. She cares only about her image and media publicity,” they said.
“Our mother is after money. She once encouraged us to open the safe, take passports and money, and run away from the home. It is her selfishness.”
Earlier, in a written affidavit submitted to a court, the twin sisters had said they have been living happily with their father for over 12 years in Dubai.
They had said that their mother resorts to social media platforms instead of visiting them. “She has been publicly uploading materials and making statements for several years to indicate that her two daughters have been forcibly removed and kept by their father against their will.”
Sophia was contacted for her views but she did not respond to the statements and allegations made by her twin daughters.
