The prime minister made the comments while speaking to journalists in Islamabad. Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz heavyweights Ahsan Iqbal, Marriyum Aurangzeb and Attaullah Tarar flanked the premier at the presser. Sharif made the The PTI chief, he said, had actually hatched a conspiracy with his narrative in the wake of him being ousted from office. Sharif earlier presented a blow-by-blow account leading up to the successful passage of the no-confidence motion against the then PTI government.
Imran had left the nation mired in instability with his narrative, Sharif said. The recent audio leaks wherein he can be heard saying all that needed to be done was to "play" on the foreign conspiracy cypher had left him exposed. Imran, Sharif added, can also be heard saying minutes of the cypher can be collated at whim.
The PTI chief, he said, had compromised the nation's ties with the world's most pre-eminent state. There is no denying this, he said.
"The nation was led astray with profound dishonesty. Pakistan's standing was compromised. This was done shamelessly which remains unprecedented till date, the prime minister said.
