1,325 dead, 12,703 injured, 1.6 million houses damaged

Casualty toll:

The death toll of the flood affected Pakistanis climbed to 1325 by September 5^th afternoon, of which 466 are children, 264 women and 586 men. Around 522 lives have been lost in Sindh, 289 in KP, 260 in Balochistan, 189 in Punjab, 22 in GB, 42 in AJK and one in ICT according to the National Disaster Management Authority.

Between the afternoons of September 4 to 5, casualties were only reported from Sindh. Of the 11 deaths, eight were children. Six children and two women died in Kashmore, two children in Mirpur Khas and one man in Dadu. From September 2 to 4, 41 lives were lost in Sindh, five in KP, three in Balochistan, and one in Punjab.

Nationwide, the number of injured flood affectees stands at 12,703, with 3,975 children, 3,396 women and 5,332 men.

In Sindh, the casualties were reported from Dadu, Karachi, Badin, Shikarpur, Matiari, Khairpur, Ghotki and NausheroFeroze; in KP from Dera Ismail Khan, North Waziristan, Lower Dir, Tank and Lower Kohistan; in Balochistan from Zhob; and Rajanpur in Punjab.

The causes of the deaths were drowning and roof-collapse. Districts of Sindh and KP have the most details among the calamity hit areas.

Damage to infrastructure and houses:

Around 260,966 houses were recorded as damaged over the course of three days till September 5. Now more than 1.6 million houses are damaged across the country at 1,688,005, of which 559,992 are destroyed and 1,128,013 partially damaged.

The number of damaged houses has crossed 1.4 million in Sindh, which include 483,193 destroyed houses and 993,216 partially damaged.

In Balochistan, 63,068 houses are fully damaged, with 44,960 partially damaged and 18,108 destroyed. In KP the number of impacted houses is 87,772 with 52,527 fully damaged and 35,425 partially damaged.

In Punjab 59,078 are damaged with 36,477 partially damaged houses and 22,601 destroyed. The number of damaged houses in AJK is 514 and 1,164 in GB.
