Caretaker Prime Minister Anwaar-ul-Haq Kakar laid a floral wreath at Yadgar-e-Shuhada on Wednesday in honor of the brave military personnel.

While speaking at a ceremony held to commemorate Defence Day at the Pakistan Monument, the prime minister stated, "We come here to pay tribute to brave sons of the soil who embraced martyrdom while ensuring the security of the country."

He said, "Our martyrs who embraced martyrdom for the sake of their people and the country can never be forgotten and will always remain in our hearts". "The people who, in their respective times, sacrificed their lives to safeguard their nation, country, people, and laws had in fact offered their lives in the way of Allah Almighty."

Referring to the moments of the martyrdom of the valiant soldiers, the prime minister said "This is the moment that appears to be death, but actually it is the moment of meeting with the immortal".

Meanwhile, the chairman of the joint chiefs of staff committee, service chiefs, and the armed forces of the country also paid tribute to martyrs, their loved ones, and war veterans.

According to a statement issued by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the military leadership said that on September 6, 1965, it was once again demonstrated that a smaller but righteous force overcame a numerically larger enemy with professionalism, tenacity, and faith.

The military's top brass stated that this day and the related bravery and sacrifices will continue to motivate future generations.

The ISPR stated that the armed forces of the country are dedicated to protecting the homeland from all dangers, both domestic and external.
