Noor Jehan is one of four African elephants in Karachi, who has been left partly immobilised due to a medical condition as well as lack of care from the zoo.
One day before, the Four Paws team headed by by Dr Khalil and including Dr Marina Ivanova from Bulgaria, Dr Frank Göritz, Prof Thomas Hildebrandt and Mathias Otto from Germany, and Pia Einheimler from Austria visited the Karachi Zoo to conduct a five-hour-long examination of the elephant.

In a report, Dr. Khalil spoke about how Noor Jehan needed to be given a special diet along with the other treatments. “We gave recommendations and guidelines for Noor Jehan’s recovery; her future and survival now depend on the zoo,” the vet added.
