Nasrullah Gadani's Murder: Police Clears MNA, Charges His Sons For Conspiracy

Police have cleared a Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) MNA of his alleged involvement in the murder of journalist Nasrullah Gadani. However, they have charged two of his sons for conspiracy.

This was contained in the final investigation report submitted by the police to the court in Gadani's murder.

DSP Siraj Lashari submitted the final charge sheet and investigation report in the murder case to Mirpur Mathelo's judicial magistrate.

Per DSP Lashari's investigation, PPP's MNA Khalid Hussain Lund was completely unaware of the incident until after it occurred. However, his sons Shahebaz Lund and Noor Muhammad were allegedly involved in hatching a conspiracy against Gadani.

The report further stated that Gadani was gunned down by two attackers, Asghar Lund and Abdullah Lund. These two men allegedly carried out the heinous act at the behest of Shahbaz Lund and Noor Muhammad.

Further, it identified the motive for the brutal murder as personal enmity stemming from Gadani's 'dynamic' reporting.

Speaking to the media after submitting the report, DSP Lashari revealed that they had requested the court to remove sections relating to anti-terror laws in the case as they had determined the motive to be personal enmity.

Asked about clearing MNA Khalid Lund in the case, the police investigator asserted that he had investigated the high-profile case from all angles and that he could not find any evidence of a connection between Khalid Lund and the commission of the crime. He further said that when Gadani was killed, the MNA was attending a session of the national assembly.

However, the police investigator said the court would pass a final orderregarding the charge sheet he had filed after seeking the prosecution's opinion.

Meanwhile, the Sindh High Court sought a report from Ghotki SSP after a petition was filed to provide legal protection to Gadani's family.

Gadani was a journalist associated with a Sindhi newspaper. He had suffered serious grievous injuries when unidentified armed men riding on a motorcycle opened fire at him near Korai Goth on the outskirts of Mirpur Mathelo on May 21. Gadani subsequently died of his injuries in Karachi on May 24."
