With the Gaza war still raging, Palestinian children have borne the brunt of the carnage, with more than 1,000 children having one or both legs amputated since the conflict began on October 7, according to Al Jazeera, citing Unicef.

The majority of these amputations were performed without anesthesia since the besieged zone is suffering from a severe lack of key medical supplies as a result of the ongoing Israeli blockade.

According to Al Jazeera, Israel has hinted at a possible de-escalation in northern Gaza after its military announced it "dismantled" the Palestinian resistance group Hamas there.

According to Israeli army spokesperson Rear-Admiral Daniel Hagari, the force killed around 8,000 Hamas fighters in northern Gaza.

While acknowledging the possibility of dispersed gunfire and occasional rocket fire, the spokesman stated unequivocally that Israel's attack had destroyed Hamas' ability to operate in northern Gaza in an organized manner.
