Caretaker Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Murtaza Solangi has stated that talks for a reduction in power tariffs are currently being held with the International Monetary Fund (IMF).

The minister said in an interview with a private news channel that the latest Cabinet meeting, which was recently presided over by Caretaker Prime Minister Anwaar-ul-Haq Kakar, resulted in some final decisions for the purpose.

He said that a consultation with the IMF was now taking place after the prime minister instructed the relevant stakeholders to do so.

The status regarding a reduction in the average person's power cost will become obvious in a few days, according to the minister.

He said that several causes contributing to the current energy issues were being considered while considering energy-saving solutions.

The caretaker government has a limited mandate, authority, and tenure, he said, while emphasizing the cooperation of all the political parties in holding free, fair, and transparent elections in the country.

Solangi said, "Our responsibility is not to criticize but to play our role in resolving difficulties.

He said that the interim government will help the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) hold the election on time.

He said, "We have taken an oath to safeguard the Constitution. The interim government has been carrying out its duties in accordance with its mandate.

He asserted that everyone was entitled to freedom of speech and peaceful protest.
