He was found unconscious in his house and was immediately rushed to the Aga Khan Hospital, in a critical condition. Upon arrival at the hospital, he was declared dead. According to a Samaa TV report, Liaquat, who was 49-years-old, was already dead by the time he was discovered in his house.
His post-mortem examination will be conducted at Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre.
Liaquat's death has also been confirmed by National Assembly Speaker Pervaiz Ashraf, who postponed today's session of the National Assembly – of which Liaquat was a member – till 5 PM tomorrow.
Reacting to his death, his former wife Dania Shah tweeted that life was so unpredictable.
