COAS Bajwa Says PM Imran Is His Boss Not Friend

Chief of Army Staff General Qamar Javed Bajwa, while responding to a comment during the in-camera meeting of the Parliamentary Committee on National Security, reportedly said that Prime Minister Imran Khan was his boss and not a friend.

24News reported that the army chief had a pleasant conversation with some lawmakers during the meeting of the parliamentary committee. When Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam - F (JUI-F) leader Abdul Ghafoor Haideri said to General Bajwa that he came to the parliament but did not bring his 'friend' [PM Imran Khan] along, he said, "PM Imran Khan is my boss, not a friend."

Reports also suggest that Opposition Leader in National Assembly Shehbaz Sharif spoke about Prime Minister Imran Khan's 'absolutely not' stance, but stopped short of naming Khan.

General Qamar Bajwa warmly greeted Minister for Science and Technology Shibili Faraz and recited a couplet of the minister's father, legendary Urdu poet Ahmad Faraz.
