Fatima Bhutto, granddaughter of former prime minister Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto, claimed on Thursday that Zoom Video Communications has deactivated her account for being vocal against Israel’s brutality in Gaza.

On X, formerly known as Twitter, Fatima said that Zoom has deactivated her account for participating in three teach-ins on the Gaza crisis. “Is this punishment?” she questioned.

The eminent writer and columnist said, “I received no email, no explanation, just the disabling of my account.”

“Your support is nonexistent, so I can only imagine that this is censorship,” she added.

It is pertinent to mention here that Israel’s attacks on Gaza have claimed more than 10,515 lives.

UN assistance head Martin Griffiths said, “The crisis in Gaza is a wildfire that might spread throughout the region, adding that allowing the situation in Gaza to continue would be a travesty.”

While speaking at the commencement of a humanitarian conference on Gaza in Paris, he said, "The United Nations cannot be a part of a unilateral proposal to push Palestinians into so-called safe zones."
