Prime Minister Imran Khan has said that using force will not eliminate extremism, rather moral and ethical values would have to be instilled in the younger generation to fight the menace and make the society tolerant.

The prime minister was answering questions, regarding the rise of extremism and the increasing number of violent crimes against women and children, by officers during the 115th National Management Course (NMC).

While talking about the education system, he said that there was an urgent need for the Single National Curriculum (SNC) as different education systems had consolidated class structures. "The government intends to have a core curriculum adopted throughout the country so that children get a strong base”, he said.

The premier added that children had access to all kinds of material on their phones and this unfiltered content gave rise to extremism in society.

He added that with the help of the Rehmatul Lil Alameen Authority, the government would provide an alternative to the youth i.e., the teachings of the Holy Prophet (PBUH), including respect, dignity, family values, ethics, and morality.

The prime minister told the civil servants that they bore a huge responsibility when it came to striving for the welfare of the masses.
