Armed members of the Bohshera and Dandar tribes exchanged gunfire over a land dispute on Friday, resulting in at least five fatalities and 30 injuries.
After the warring tribes agreed to a truce and left their bunkers, the district administration, police, and local elders intervened. However, hostilities broke out in the Khar Killay, Balishkhel, Pewar, and Tari Mangal districts.
According to locals, there were intermittent fires that resulted in one death each in Tari Manga, Khar Killay, and Balishkhel, as well as three and two injuries. In the Pewar region, three people also suffered injuries.
According to District Police Officer Muhammad Imran and Deputy Commissioner Syed Saiful Islam Shah, the district administration, police, and local elders have resumed attempts to bring the warring tribes to a lasting cease-fire.
