Shocking revelations have emerged from a diary allegedly penned by former prime minister and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan's wife, Bushra Bibi, suggesting someone had substantial influence on the country’s political scene, SAMAA TV reported on Friday.
The contents of the diary have been leaked a day after Bushra Bibi claimed that police had conducted a search of the house when they entered it to arrest Imran Khan in the Toshakhana case. She argued that the warrants which police showed did not contain permission to search the premises and thus confiscation of any material during the search was illegal.
The diary contains suggestions to several covert actions taken to put pressure on significant figures who hold significant influence in Pakistan.
The leaked diary entries, which include a wealth of political maneuvers and tactics, have sparked discussions about the appropriate level of spousal engagement in politics and have brought Bushra Bibi's position within the PTI leadership under close examination.
The diary purportedly contains painstakingly recorded descriptions of Bushra Bibi's attempts to exercise influence over important figures in Pakistan, which is a startling revelation. It raises concerns about the amount of her influence on PTI's decision-making processes as she appears to be concentrating on Imran Khan's thinking through her strategic use of prayer, rhetoric, and persuasive language.
Bushra Bibi's alleged orchestration of a thorough strategy to mold Imran Khan's thoughts and personality via prayer and subtle persuasion is one of the diary's most astounding assertions.
The notebook also allegedly refers to General Bajwa as "Mamu" and offers tactics for applying pressure on important people and institutions.
The notes in Bushra Bibi's diary offer insight into her function in directing PTI's legal strategy. She is said to have supervised communications between Imran Khan and lawyers, ordering his husband to keep quiet about important issues. She apparently influenced the dynamics of the trial by posing questions meant to put the opposition to the government to the test.
Furthermore, Bushra Bibi's influence over Imran Khan's daily schedule, including his meals and hobbies, is explored in the journal. Details, including times for ingestion, show her influence over his dietary preferences.
Earlier, Bushra Bibi had said that police conducted a search operation at her residence without a search warrant.
The statement came after news anchor and analyst Javed Chaudhry had first claimed that when the police arrested Imran Khan, the doors for him were unlocked from inside and he was then taken away while Bushra told them they could not conduct a search. However, on Friday, Chaudhry contradicted himself, stating that the diary had been recovered during a search during Imran Khan's arrest.
