Rising Pneumonia Cases: Punjab Govt Extends Winter Vacations For Students Up To Grade 1

In response to the rising number of pneumonia-related deaths among children in Punjab, Caretaker Chief Minister Mohsin Naqvi announced an extended winter holiday for schoolchildren up to grade 1.

The decision is a preventative step to safeguard young kids from the province's extreme winter weather conditions.

In an emergency meeting at the Children's Hospital in Lahore, the Chief Minister not only declared the extension of the winter holidays but also directed that all examinations scheduled for this month be postponed.

Naqvi expressed concern over the alarming scenario, pointing out that eight out of every ten children in the province are reported to have pneumonia.

Finding that a substantial percentage of the deceased children are newborns under the age of six months is especially upsetting, emphasizing the vulnerability of society's youngest members to the current climatic conditions.
