Police Arrest 3 Ahmadis In Faisalabad For Slaughtering Animals On Eid
Three members of the Ahmadi community were arrested in Faisalabad after being booked by the police for 'hurting the sentiments of Muslims' by performing the Eid ul Azha ritual of sacrificing animals.

Dawn quoted Ahmadi community Pakistan's spokesperson Saleemuddin as saying that three Ahmadis were arrested over the matter.

According to the complaint made against the arrestees, the complainants were inside a mosque after Eid ul Azha prayers on Sunday when they were informed by 'verified sources' that Ahmadi residents of the area were sacrificing animals inside their homes. After reaching the area, they went to the roofs of the nearby houses, from where they saw the Ahmadi residents sacrificing a goat as well as 'cutting the meat' of another animal, as per the FIR.

Further, the complainants said that the members of the Ahmadi community tried to present themselves as Muslims by performing an Islamic ritual, adding that this was a 'cognisable offence'. The FIR named five members of the community.

The Ahmadi community spokesperson said that the ritual was being performed inside a house and not in a public place. He termed this incident a form of persecution of the community.
