PML-N Leaders Have Field Day As Government Postpones Joint Session Of Parliament For Proposed Electoral Reforms
After a joint session of Parliament to discuss the government’s proposed electoral reforms had to be postponed, opposition figures from PML-N have taken to social media to highlight the ruling party’s step back. PM Imran Khan had called upon lawmakers from the PTI and those aligned with the ruling party to see the legislation process as a ‘jihad.’ These comments became a target for the opposition after Minister for Information and Broadcasting Fawad Chaudhry announced that the joint session had been postponed.

“Can the nation ask why the jihad was postponed so suddenly?” quipped Maryam Nawaz Sharif on Twitter:

The PML-N Information Secretary Marriyum Aurangzeb soon followed by claiming that the Prime Minister had “run away”:

Meanwhile, the Prime Minister opted to express his ire at the Opposition and the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) for preventing the electoral reforms desired by the ruling party, as well as its proposed implementation of Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs).
