Israeli attacks during the previous 24 hours have resulted in at least 63 Palestinian deaths and 45 injuries, according to Gaza's Health Ministry on Friday.

Meanwhile, the World Health Organization (WHO) has said destruction in Khan Younis and damage to the medical sector are "disproportionate to anything one can imagine" after the Israeli army withdrawal.

On the other hand, Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Gallant declared on Thursday that Israel would retaliate violently against any Iranian strike.

Gallant informed US Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin that "a direct Iranian attack will require an appropriate Israeli response against Iran," according to statements from his office.

According to the Pentagon, the two talked about America's "iron-clad" resolve to protect Israel from dangers posed by Iran and its allies.

"Echoing President Biden's unequivocal message to Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu, Secretary Austin assured Minister Gallant that Israel could count on full US support to defend Israel against Iranian attacks, which Tehran has publicly threatened," stated the Pentagon.

It added that a visit by the top US general for the Middle East, Army General Michael "Erik" Kurilla, to Israel had been moved up so he could meet with Israeli military leadership and discuss "current security threats." Kurilla has been traveling to Israel regularly in recent months.
