Maulana Fazl-ur-Rehman was quoted by Daily Jang (18 December 2017) as saying that liberals would suffer a defeat in the coming elections, and that those who took money from Jews had lost the air in their balloons.


Saad Rafique’s narrative


Federal minister for railways Saad Rafique, according to Daily Jang (18 December 2017) expressed his opinion that Nawaz Sharif was brave like a lion while Imran Khan was a jackal (geedar) – and so the latter could not lead any movement.


A tale of two disqualifications


PTI chief Imran Khan was quoted by Daily Jang (18 December 2017) as saying that former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif was a criminal before the nation (qaum ke mujrim). He further stated that Jehangir Tareen’s disqualification made no difference, and that he would remain with him.

Actress Meera, according to Daily Express (20 December 2017), stated her preference for marrying a businessman rather than a state official. She said that she would invite all showbiz personalities except Reema. Further, she said that she would invite Nawaz Sharif and Bilawal Bhutto rather than Imran Khan.

Former Chief Minister of Sindh Qaim Ali Shah was quoted by Daily Express (21 December 2017) as saying that Imran Khan was old and that he had seen him paying cricket in his student days.
