The seven-month old, Chand, was charged along with four accomplices of depriving the plaintiff of his plot of land and not paying the agreed upon Rs.1.5m for the sale. The land had been transferred into the name of Jamil, one of the men also charged in the case.
As per regulations, an investigation officer is required to complete due diligence before lodging a case. SHO Yasir was suspended from service by DPO Sohaib Ashraf for failing to complete prior investigation into the matter.
The case was brought to the attention of the authorities after the family appeared in court to request interim bail. The case has gone viral on social media.
