After a protracted illness, veteran Pakistani actor Khalid Butt passed away in Lahore on Thursday. He had been afflicted with kidney and liver problems.
Butt has been a fixture on the nation's TV screens for decades. He also acted in a number of movies.
According to family sources, Butt's funeral prayer would be offered after Asr prayer on Friday.
Beginning his career in the 1970s, the renowned actor showcased his artistic abilities in both serious and comedic parts in several TV series and films produced in Punjabi and Urdu.
In addition, the government honored Butt with the Pride of Performance Award in recognition of his contributions to the entertainment sector.
Throughout his historic career, he appeared in a number of well-known drama serials, including Teesra Kinara, Neelay Hath, and Boota From Toba Tek Singh.
The well-known performer not only displayed his acting talent but also dabbled in direction.
Butt is survived by his widow, two sons, and two daughters.
