A man who claims to have lived near the house of the late media personality Dr. Aamir Liaquat Hussain has asked police to register a case against Karachi’s power company K-electric, on the grounds that it was culpable for load-shedding in the city which led to the fatal incident. The complainant, named Haji Liaquat, who claims to be a member of the Muhajir Qaumi Movement (MQM), has argued that Aamir Liaquat’s use of the electric power generator was attributable to power cuts in the city, for which K-electric was to be held responsible.

According to Express News, his FIR has been registered at Brigade police station, and he purports to live close to Aamir Liaquat’s house at Sharah-e-Quaideen. He says that the smoke from Aamir Liaquat’s power generator had filled up his home and resulted in his death. Moreover, he says that he rushed to the residence of the late TV host, where he found his body being transported by ambulance.

Haji Liaquat has asked for a case to be registered against the owners and local managers of the power supply company, stating that their 12-hour-long power cuts had resulted in the death of Aamir Liaquat Hussain.
