Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, who is currently in London to meet with his elder brother, Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) supremo Nawaz Sharif to make important political decisions, has extended his trip in London, in a change of plans.
The Prime Minister, who had arrived in London on November 9, was supposed to head back to Pakistan on Friday. However, as per the Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Marriyum Aurangzeb, the PM had decided to extend his trip by a day.
Earlier, the Information Minister had shared a video of Nawaz Sharif seeing off his brother after supposedly a series of meetings. According to reports, the PM had traveled to London to present the party supremo with options given to him by ‘certain quarters’, so they could make a decision appropriate of the current political climate.
The two brothers had reportedly been deliberating about the appointment of the new army chief, as well as hot to best tackle the ongoing Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) long march.
It was learned that the Sharif brothers had decided to not to ‘surrender’ the powers of the premier to appoint the chief of army staff.
Separately, Planning Minister Ahsan Iqbal has said that the decision pertaining to a new chief of army staff will be made before November 29.
